This Privacy Policy describes how Sideline Replay ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Laurent Chicoine Productions, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address — used for authentication and team invitations
• Display name — shown to team members
• Authentication provider data — if you sign in with Apple or email/password

Team & Usage Data

When you use the Service, we collect:

• Team membership — which teams you belong to and your role (owner, admin, viewer)
• Event metadata — names, dates, and tags for recording sessions
• Clip metadata — timestamps, play tags (e.g. Offense, Defense), and file references

Device & Diagnostic Data

We may automatically collect device type, operating system version, and crash/error logs to improve the Service.

Video & Image Data

We do not store your video recordings or thumbnail images on our servers.

All video files and thumbnails are uploaded directly from your device to your team's linked Google Drive account. We store only the Google Drive file identifiers (IDs) in our database to enable playback and synchronization. The actual media files remain in the Google Drive account controlled by your team administrator.

Local copies of videos may be cached on your device for offline playback. These can be cleared by uninstalling the app.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide and maintain the Service, including team management, video recording, and playback features
• To authenticate your identity and manage your account
• To send transactional emails such as team invitations
• To improve the Service through usage analysis and error tracking

Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with the following third-party services:

• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, and cloud functions. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Google Drive API — video and thumbnail storage on your team's Google Drive. See Google Privacy Policy.
• Apple Sign-In — optional authentication on iOS devices. See Apple Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your data or use any advertising or tracking services.

Data Sharing

We share your information only in the following situations:

• With your team members — team administrators can see your name, email, and role within the team.
• With service providers — as described above (Firebase, Google Drive), solely for operating the Service.
• As required by law — if required by legal process or government request.

Data Residency

When you create a team, you choose a data region (United States or Canada). Your team's data is stored in the selected region's database. Account-level data is stored in the United States.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from within the app, which will:

• Remove you from all teams
• Delete your user profile from all regional databases
• Delete your Firebase authentication account

Video files stored in Google Drive are not affected by account deletion, as they are controlled by the team's Drive account.

Device Permissions

The app requests the following device permissions:

• Camera — to record game footage
• Microphone — to capture audio with video recordings

These permissions are requested only when needed and can be revoked at any time through your device settings.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take steps to remove that information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the app or via email. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
